International Flights from Europe and the US:
Of the European airlines that fly into Lima on a daily basis, KLM and Iberia offer direct flights. Lufthansa has a shuttle service to Lima via Caracas. Connections are offered by Delta, American Airlines, Lan Peru, Continental Airlines or Spirit, via the U.S. Connections departing in Madrid are also offered by Lan Peru and Air Comet.

There are a variety of airlines arriving from the US to Lima such as Delta, LanPeru/Chile, American Airlines, Continental and Spirit airlines. Several of the airlines have direct flights to Lima, while others will require you to transfer.

Some of the flights arrive to Lima at night while others arrive to Lima in the morning allowing you to fly to Cusco immediately after you pass through immigrations and customs. If you arrive to Lima at night, you will need to stay overnight in a hotel. Flights to Cusco are only in the mornings and afternoons. Please check with your travel agent or the airline directly to see what flight arrangements are most convenient and economical for you.

The hotel we use is middle class and located in the well-known district of Miraflores, only a few minutes walk from the pacific coast. The hotel is about 40 minutes from the airport.

The special hotel rate, for ACUPARI students, is as follows:
SR US$30, Breakfast is included.
DR US$45, Breakfast is included.
The round trip transfer, provided by the hotel, is $22 per person.
Both the hotel reservation and the transfer service are paid directly to the hotel.

Once in Cusco…
Once you arrive to Cusco, whether it be by flight, bus, or train, a member of your homestay family will be waiting to pick you up and bring you “home”. A family member will also escort you to ACUPARI your first day of classes.

If you are staying at a hotel, someone from ACUPARI will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your hotel. You will be given a map indicating how to get to the ACUPARI language school from your hotel.

Travel by land…
Once in Peru, you might opt to travel by bus to Cusco instead of flying. Though this option takes much longer – about a 20 hour ride versus a 1 hour flight – it is much more economical and allows for stops at interesting places along the way. There are several possible routes such as non-stop from Lima to Cusco; travel via Arequipa, or via Puno, or both. ACUPARI does not make reservations for land travel. Below are several links to buslines offering service to Cusco. Tickets can be booked online with
Cruz del Sur at, www.cruzdelsur.com.pe. Ormeño, another bus company, has a website, www.grupo-ormeno.com.pe, however, reservations can only be made by calling, (51-1) 472-1710.
