Spanish
courses |
ACUPARI offers all levels of Spanish courses,
whether you are a beginner or already an advanced
speaker. There are group or private classes at
a standard level or a more intense level. We also
offer specialized Spanish courses on an individual
basis in such areas as business or medical Spanish.
All of our courses immerse you, in Spanish conversation,
so right from the beginning you are speaking Spanish.
What ever your need, at ACUPARI you will find
your Spanish course. To enhance your spanish immersion
experience why not stay with a host
family! |
|
Quechua
classes
|
|
Quechua is primarily a spoken language and
difficult to approach with traditional and academic
methods. For this reason only part of ACUPARI
Quechua classes take place in the classroom
and only in one-on-one classes. Important is
the conversation and being together with the
Native Quechua speaker in their social environment.
Our Quechua learners go with their teachers
to visit markets and village communities to
practice by direct communication. A prerequisite
is good knowledge of Spanish.
A Tandem partner can also be arranged for Quechua
students. Students can also stay with a host
family!

At Acupari
you can prepare for all three levels of the DELE
(Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) exams

The DELEs are divided into three levels depending

is an equivalent of the level B1 of the
European Framework of Reference.

knowledge of the language to allow communication
in everyday situations which do not require
specialized terms (e.g. technical terms).
This certified DELE level is an equivalent
of the level B2 of the European Framework
of Reference.
Superior
level

knowledge of the language allowing communication
in all situations requiring superior use

Class size: Mini-group or One-on-one?
|
| Our Spanish
courses only, can be done in mini-groups with
a minimum of two to a maximum of six students,
with a similar level of proficiency*. This,
however, is not always possible. If we do not
have a group according to your level of proficiency
we offer you 12 hours of one-on-one classes
instead of 20 hours of classes in a mini-group.
* based on the results of the
placement test taken on your first day.
Spanish and Quechua courses can be done on a
one-to-one basis. One-on-one classes offer flexibility
and are tailored to your individual requirements
in every regard. You yourself can determine
content and rhythm of learning, be it more conversation
or more grammar, vocabulary related to a specific
field of interest or everyday speech, our teachers
are quick to realize how they can best serve
your needs. You also can decide your hours.
|
|
Class
hours: Standard or Intensive?
|
| You can choose
either our 4 hour per day Standard program or
our 6 hour per day Intensive program. The advantage
of our programs is that each period is taught
by a different teacher offering you diversity
of style in the classroom. If you opt for the
Standard program, you will enjoy 2 different teachers
during the week. If you are looking for more intense
study, opt for the Intensive program, with up
to 3 teachers during the week. |
Standard Course:
20 hours per 50 min. per week
Timetable: Monday to Friday
09.00 - 10.40 1st period
10.40 - 11.00 coffee break
11.00 - 12.40 2nd period

Duration
|
| For your
convenience you can register
for one-to-one Spanish or Quechua classes for
1 week minimum or more. Our Spanish mini-group
classes are for a 1 week minimum or more for our
intensive course or a 2 week minimum or more for
the mini-group standard course. For more information

Tandem®
|
| Something
really special at ACUPARI is our Tandem®
program. Right on your second day of classes
we introduce you to a Peruvian who is studying
your language: your Tandem® conversation
partner. Apart from your classroom time, you
and your tandem partner are going to converse
in, both Spanish and your maternal language,
not in the environments of a language institute
but on the way, walking the city, in a museum,
on excursions, etc. You and your tandem partner
will also go to the market, to see the different
types of fruits, what is going on in a typical
market setting and much more of what you would
hardly learn when coming to Cusco as a regular
tourist. So that you and your tandem partner
both benefit from the tandem, the time will
be divided so that half the time you are practicing
Spanish and half the time your maternal language.

...
and the teachers?
|
| To provide
the highest quality in the classroom, our teaching
team is made up of eight permanently employed
Spanish teachers, who are highly qualified and
undergo continuous training. In cooperation
with the Argentinean Association of Spanish
Teachers ACUPARI has financed an additional
qualification training that is a prerequisite
for teaching at ACUPARI. Even though the predominant
language in the classroom is Spanish, some of
the feedback we have received underlines that
our teachers’ knowledge of English has
been especially helpful. |
|
The
materials we use
|
| Be it
one-on-one classes or mini-groups, we work with
interactive and diverse methods. Our team of
qualified professional teachers has compiled
their own textbook and resources for the basic
level. For all other levels we have a large
variety of textbooks and resources which are
adapted to the individual interests and previous
knowledge and level of the learner.
In addition to that you can borrow books in
our library that has readings and literature
in Spanish, with a difficulty level ranging
from simple to medium. |
